don’t die press
Please send unpublished manuscripts of feminist creative writing and/or artwork up to 50 pages in length to gro.sserpeidtnod@rotide to be considered for publication as an e-chapbook with don’t die press! Individual pieces can be previously published; please make note of these at the beginning of your manuscript. We look forward to reading your work!
Don’t have a full manuscript ready for publication? S/tick is seeking individual pieces of fabulous feminist creative writing and artwork.
S/tick provides a place for women, women-identified, and feminists of all stripes to share their grief, anger, and joy. We strongly encourage submissions from traditionally marginalized voices including BIPOC, LGBTQIA, individuals with disabilities, survivors, migrants and refugees, working class people, individuals in poverty, and madwomen. You may choose to identify your identity/ies in your submission; all personal information will be kept private. Please send us your bright and touching art, poetry, and prose with a biting feminist bent, or simply ensure you redress something of interest to feminists!
In an unjust world, there’s a fine line between anger and madness. S/tick Magazine invites you to channel rage into righteous writing for its next issue, “Angry/Mad.” Tired of the grotesque facades of rich men in power? White politicians cavorting in blackface? Sexual predators who insist their violations were consensual? Rhetoric on reconciliation without genuine action? People who look at wildfires, rising water, disastrous storms, melting ice caps and deny there’s anything amiss? Submit, but do not be submissive!
Update: Still seeking specifically-themed works for Angry/Mad! S/tick needs submissions of anger and madness about the following:Updated Deadline: June 26, 2020.
* The current political climate in the United States/Canada.
* Racist police brutality in the United States/Canada or elsewhere.
* The current political neglect of climate change as the issue of our time.
